Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Construction Manager within Global Engineering Services (GES) NA Startup Engineering Risk Management to lead cross-functional projects in distribution center design and execution. You will manage schedules, vendor coordination, and change controls while ensuring safe, on-time delivery and handover to operations.

The role requires 50% regional travel and relocation flexibility, with office-based work when not traveling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as an Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of project management experience from design through construction completion and handover.
• 5+ years of negotiating construction, procurement, and/or labor contracts.
• 5+ years of proficiency with AutoCAD and BIM, and scheduling software such as Primavera or MS Project.
• Position includes travel up to 60% (Nationwide). A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage lifecycle of challenging projects with internal and external teams, delivering objectives and targets.
• Actively participate in engineering reviews, influencing system architecture and facility processes.
• Set project priorities, milestones, and drive schedules; manage dependencies and risk.
• Lead execution of designs; perform installation, qualifications, and issue resolution.
• Document meetings and decisions; communicate status and drive leadership updates.
• Control change orders, purchase orders, and invoice approvals.
