Job summary

Ulteig Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Lead Construction Inspector. Base location is flexible, with Colorado Western Slope preferred, and remote work is available. You will support engineers, lead project teams, perform calculations, and manage construction activities.

The role requires 5 years of related inspection experience, relevant DOT/ACI certifications, and strong writing and communication skills. You will supervise staff and contribute to quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5 years of related experience in municipal or CDOT construction inspection required
• DOT, ACI, or related certifications for Asphalt and/or Concrete preferred
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc) and Outlook proficiency, with an ability to learn more software packages as the work requires.
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Excellent time management skills

• A willingness to learn new skills, take on new challenges, and eventually take on increasing responsibilities

• Self-motivated; able to work independently and with a project team

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, execute, and manage engineering project construction
• Perform calculations using engineering formulas
• Assist with development and implementation of construction-related services
• Assist with other field staff and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Supervise less experienced staff and/or technical support and develop a solid team
• Work long hours during construction season and may have minimal project-related hours during non-construction season
