Job summary

Procon Consulting in Denver, CO seeks a Lead Construction Inspector for a long-term opportunity. You will review blueprints, monitor progress, inspect interior/exterior work, and document findings using survey instruments and field reports.

The role requires at least 5 years of experience, a bachelor’s degree in Construction/Engineering/Architecture, and government or military project exposure. You will liaise with clients and teams to ensure compliance and quality.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
• Experience as a Lead Inspector and government or military project exposure.
• Ability to prepare professional correspondence and maintain records at the site.
• Experience leading meetings to resolve issues and briefing clients/management.
• Knowledge of construction practices, materials, and installation methods.
• Ability to interpret drawings/blueprints and guide project execution.
• Skill in cost estimating and schedule impacts for changes; evaluate proposals.
• Inspect materials and installations for systems like fire alarm and life safety.
• Strong OSHA knowledge and safe-site practices.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, and perform general field inspections for all disciplines.
• Assess workmanship and quality; complete inspection reports and defect logs.
• Lead on-site inspection activities for government projects with compliance checks.
• Act as liaison between Procon, government representatives, contractors, and design teams.
• Document daily progress and verify conformance to plans and specs.
• Inspect architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
• Prepare field reports, non-conformance notices, and photographic documentation.
• Review drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders for accuracy.
• Evaluate pay applications and construction schedules for fairness.
• Lead progress meetings, QC reviews, and safety inspections.
• Ensure contractor compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Provide mentorship to inspection staff and support project closeout.
