Job summary

Accura Engineering in Lexington, KY is seeking a Senior Construction Representative to supervise surveillance of complex construction projects and deliver QA/QC reports in compliance with plans and specifications. The role focuses on workmanship, materials, installation, and construction methods for government projects.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in construction project engineering, management, or inspection, with experience in USACE/DoD or federal programs preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years in construction project engineering, management, or inspection.
• Experience with USACE/DoD or federal programs preferred.
• Familiarity with permitting, utilities, and regional construction methods.
• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and construction safety requirements.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, submittals, schedules, daily reports, and progress payments.
• Strong written and verbal communication with government personnel.
• Ability to obtain and maintain access to military installations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveillance of construction projects and deliver findings.
• Prepare surveillance reports documenting compliance with plans and specifications for workmanship, materials, installation, and construction methods.
• Review contract plans and specifications and propose necessary changes to government personnel.
• Provide construction site surveillance and assist in resolving apparent differences.
• Provide opinions and advice to government personnel, survey project quality assurance programs, and discuss changed conditions.
• Assist the Government in investigating the need for change orders and preparing supporting data.
• Develop detailed inspection requirements and control methods in coordination with government personnel.
• Prepare draft change orders and modifications for the COR, ACO, and/or KO.
• Submit deliverables for government review; government personnel will review all deliverables.
• Review the contractor’s Quality Control Plan, Safety Plan, Schedule of Prices, Progress Schedules, and CPM diagrams for conformance with contract requirements and good practice.
• Attend, participate in advisory capacity, and keep notes of preconstruction conferences and meetings with contractors and COR.
• Review daily quality control reports to ensure documentation quality.
• Perform surveillance to ensure QC systems are followed and provide daily QA/inspection reports.
• Review ongoing construction work to verify conformance with contract requirements.
• Attend QA preparatory and initial inspections; submit a daily QAR within 24 hours.
• Verify site location, layout, and elevations prior to start of work.
• Monitor tracking of deficiencies and RFIs; maintain audit trails.
• Travel to and from job sites will be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
