Job summary

Lindahl Reed, Inc. seeks a Construction Inspector to provide on-site inspection and quality assurance services for the UESC program at the U.S. Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore, MD.

The role covers mechanical, electrical, civil, and utility systems, requiring independent, detail‑oriented oversight. You will verify compliance with approved design documents, safety protocols and codes, maintain daily logs and photos, and contribute to government progress reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of construction inspection/QA experience on large-scale energy infrastructure or facilities contracts; or 5+ years with a four-year engineering degree plus PE or equivalent.
• Experience on federal construction projects with QA surveillance plans and government oversight.
• Extensive QA experience in Maryland with knowledge of local trades and multiple contracts; client technical representative oversight.
• Energy infrastructure knowledge across mechanical and electrical systems in large projects (boilers, HVAC, BESS, solar, microgrid).
• Certification/license such as PE or ICC; knowledge of NEC/IBC/IMC/ASME/NFPA/ASHRAE; OSHA 10/30 required.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite construction inspection and QA.
• Maintain daily inspection reports, logs, photos, and material testing records.
• Document contractor QC activities and three-phase inspection process.
• Track submittals, RFIs, and non-conformance reports.
• Prepare inspection summaries and assist monthly progress reports.
• Participate in design reviews and pre-construction/conference meetings.
• Monitor compliance with Accident Prevention Plan and safety requirements.
