Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a senior project accountant to oversee accounting operations for large-scale construction projects, including complex contracts, joint ventures, and national clients. The role partners with project management to prepare accurate financial reporting and ensure GAAP compliance.

You will implement internal controls, manage month‑end closes, oversee billing and job costs, analyze profitability, and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with minimum 4 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Construction industry experience preferred but not required.
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial policies and procedures.
• Experience with AP/AR and cost allocation in construction environments.
• Ability to lead, influence stakeholders and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations for large-scale construction projects with complex contracts and joint ventures.
• Lead preparation and review of financial reporting and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Implement and monitor internal controls across finance and project teams.
• Manage month-end close, revenue recognition, and job cost accounting.
• Oversee client billing, subcontractor payments, and loan/insurance provisions as applicable.
• Analyze profitability, cash flow, and financial risks; drive process improvements.
• Coordinate with project management, vendors, and client finance teams to mitigate issues.
