Job summary

AECOM Transportation Division in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Senior Construction Field Inspector for on-site work on major transportation projects. You will use field experience to plan inspections, monitor testing, and coordinate with Contractors to keep projects on schedule and within quality standards.

MDOT certifications must be earned within 6 months. A valid driver's license and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

HS plus 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent
Valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR check
US citizenship is required

Responsibilities

Uses past experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals and solve problems in the field as they arise.
Monitor deadlines, oversee and coordinate project testing, and coordinate work with the Contractor.
Relay major problems that affect cost/scope to the Project Engineer.
Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to new and lower level employees.
Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
Perform daily field inspections, maintain inspection records, and review inspector reports from lower level inspectors.
Participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
Track quality assurance progress.
Provide input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
MDOT certifications are required or must be earned within 6 months of beginning employment.
