Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector for our Detroit, Michigan office, with Lansing as a secondary location. You will perform MDOT and other DOT project inspections across rail, road, and bridges, and prepare comprehensive reports.

The role requires 11+ years of post-education experience, advanced inspection knowledge, and strong communication skills to lead teams and ensure safety and quality on infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of post-education construction inspection experience.
• Advanced knowledge of construction inspection principles and codes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven commitment to workplace safety and policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform MDOT and other DOT/municipal project inspections in Michigan (rail, road, bridges, ITS).
• Collect, compile, and analyze data from site observations, plans, and reports; generate concise documentation.
• Write technical inspection reports with photos, calculations, and drawings; present findings.
• Coordinate with clients and contractors; lead inspection staff and assign tasks as needed.
