Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to join our team in Southeast Michigan. The role requires field work across transportation, bridge, and municipal projects, with a focus on quality, safety, and schedule adherence.

You will review plans, monitor construction, and ensure contractors follow specs with daily site reporting. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of highway/bridge inspection, certifications in soil erosion or MCA-ACI, and proficiency with AASHTOWare

Responsibilities

Read and understand plans and specifications to determine information for inspection work items during and after construction.
Monitor and inspect construction projects, including quality assurance.
Ensure contractors follow the project plans and specifications in accordance with applicable construction procedures, methods, and codes.
Track workers and equipment on project.
Review testing reports (soils, aggregate, steel, concrete, HMA, masonry, etc.).
Document the construction progress with site reports, photos, etc.
Monitor construction schedule (Critical Path Method) to ensure project is on schedule.
Facilitate communications between owners, contractors, and designers on a project.
Obtain and maintain the required certifications for each project as needed (i.e., Traffic Control, Material Testing, EGLE Plan Review and Design, MCA-ACI) as well as complete client specific safety courses.
