Job summary

Idaho Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking a skilled Estimator to lead the estimating, bidding, planning, and execution of heavy civil construction projects in Idaho. The role requires accurate cost estimates, competitive bids, and close collaboration with field operations, customers, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of construction estimating or project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of construction estimating and/or project management experience preferred.
• Experience in earthwork, utilities, heavy civil, site development, asphalt paving, and related construction projects preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Prepare estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead costs.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Develop competitive bid proposals and participate in bid reviews.
• Analyze project risks, productivity rates, and scheduling requirements.
• Maintain current pricing databases and market intelligence.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and support field operations.
• Collaborate closely with Superintendents, Foremen, and Operations personnel to achieve project goals.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with owners, engineers, public agencies, and customers.
• Resolve project issues proactively to maintain client satisfaction.
