Job summary

IMCO Construction is seeking a Senior Construction Estimator to lead the estimating department in Boise, Idaho. You will guide an estimating team, develop time, cost, and labor estimates for heavy civil and structural projects, and collaborate with managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids.

The role focuses on analyzing plans, pricing, risk assessment, and preparing bid packages for DBB, CMAR, CM/GC, or other delivery models. Some travel and relocation may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management.
• 10+ years of experience in heavy civil preconstruction, estimating, and/or construction operations.
• 5+ years in a dedicated estimator role within an Estimating Department.
• 5+ years estimating projects across multiple delivery methods including DBB, DB, CMAR/CM/GC.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office, SharePoint, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and MS Project.
• Experience with SmartBid and electronic subcontractor solicitation platforms.
• Familiarity with DOT bidding portals (AASHTOWare) and other submission portals (Quest CDN, Zycus, etc.).
• Strong ability to read, analyze, interpret, summarize contract specs, permits, and regs.
• Proven ability to prepare senior-level reports and presentations for executives.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans, specs, proposals to determine accurate construction costs.
• Lead preparation of detailed estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and indirect costs.
• Oversee quantity take-offs and review work by subordinate staff.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor quotes for competitive pricing.
• Prepare and present complete bid packages and executive review materials.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
• Monitor market trends and best practices to maintain competitive estimates.
• Lead estimating efforts for complex, multi-discipline projects.
