CDM Smith is seeking a skilled estimator in Columbus, GA to perform a range of estimating tasks, including take-offs, cost research, and OPCC preparation using Timberline. The role involves coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and procurement teams to ensure accurate pricing and timely bid responses.

Responsibilities include pre-bid participation, bid-day tabulations, and managing field documentation, RFI processes, and change orders.

Competenze

• Experience performing basic to moderately complex estimating tasks including quantity take-offs.
• Ability to research labor, material, and equipment costs for estimates.
• Familiarity with OPCC and design-build project processes.
• Ability to coordinate with project managers and procurement teams on pricing.

• Utilize Timberline to prepare Opinions of Probable Cost of Construction (OPCC).
• Research historical data and compile reports to guide estimates.
• Review pricings from project management against OPCCs.
• Contact subcontractors and suppliers for current pricing and bidding interest.
• Participate in pre-bid job walks and Bid-Day quote tabulations.
• Supervise and direct overall project activities as assigned.
• Provide technical, field and site administration support to field staff.
• Prepare submittals and interpret specifications for foremen and superintendents.
• Maintain as-built drawings and manage RFI processes with change management.
• Coordinate delivery of parts and materials with field personnel and vendors.
• Develop purchase orders, subcontracts, change orders, and applications for payment.
