Job summary

The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of construction project experience or a related degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, with strong communication

Job Summary

University Mechanical is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager for our San Diego, CA location. Backed by the strength and stability that comes with almost a century of customer care and ownership, UMEC adheres to the highest safety standards for its employees and clients. UMEC offers industry-leading building information modeling (BIM) capabilities, design/build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC services, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations. The position will lead mechanical construction projects safely on time and within budget for various markets including Healthcare, Life Science, Commercial, and Industrial.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety of UMEC field personnel assigned to the projects.
  • Drive field labor productivity and quality assurance.
  • Coordinate project financial outcome, projections and reporting.
  • Procure materials and equipment.
  • Manage change orders, owner/client relations, project cash flow, and personnel management.
  • Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, executed plans, and programs.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Computer Skills

Able to effectively operate the following computer software programs: Microsoft (Excel, Works, Project, Access, and PowerPoint), Bluebeam Revu PDF editing, Vista-Viewpoint (Project Management & Accounting Software), and Quotesoft Estimating Software.

Required Attributes
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must prioritize in a fast paced, multi-task environment.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to perform basic business mathematical functions.
  • Must work with minimal supervision.
  • Must effectively manage time and details.
  • Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data.
  • Must comply with all operating policies, procedures, plans, and programs.
Qualifications
