Job summary

University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Construction Assistant Project Manager for our San Diego, CA location.

You will oversee safety of field personnel, coordinate work, and support project planning and reporting to keep projects on schedule and budget. The role requires 5-7 years of related construction experience or a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, with strong communication and computer skills to manage procurement,

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety of field personnel on projects.

  • Procure materials and equipment; manage change orders.
  • Maintain owner/client relations and project cash flow.

Job Summary

The Mechanical Construction Assistant Project Manager forthe San Diego CA location has the following dutieswhich include safety of UMEC field personnel assigned to the projects, field labor productivity, quality assurance and coordination, project financial projections and reporting, material, and equipment procurement, change order management, owner/client relations, project cash flow, and personnel management. Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, executed plans, and programs. Other duties may be assigned.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, the individual must have 5-7 years construction work-related experience and/or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. COMPUTER SKILLS

Able to effectively operate the following computer software programs - Microsoft (Excel, Word, Project, Access, and Powerpoint), Bluebeam Revu PDF editing, Vista-Viewpoint (Project Management & Accounting Software), and Quotesoft Estimating Software.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, vendors, and suppliers.

Compensation Range: $91,520 - $104,000
