The ideal candidate has a strong background in preconstruction/design-assist, excellent communication, and leadership skills to manage multi-disciplinary teams

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a project manager in full mechanical contracting or related firms.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial projects.
  • Minimum 5 years’ preconstruction/design-assist experience.
  • Proven experience managing healthcare, data center, lab, higher education and semiconductor projects ($15M-$200M).
  • Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience working with healthcare job sites preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safety of UMEC field personnel on projects and site coordination.
  • Preconstruction, design-assist work, and field labor productivity.
  • Quality assurance, project financials, projections and reporting.
  • Material/equipment procurement and change-order management.

Job Summary

University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. is currently seeking an individual for a full-time position as a Mechanical Senior Project Manager located in the San Diego area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Proven project management skills with a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a project manager with full mechanical contracting or related construction firms.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial related projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of preconstruction/design-assist experience.
  • Proven experience in management of healthcare, data center, lab, higher education and semi-conductor projects. Contract value range of $15M-200M.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience working with job sites in healthcare is preferred .
Computer Skills

Able to effectively operate the following computer software programs

  • Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Viewpoint

Compensation Rage: $155,000-175,000
