Job summary

University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. (UMEC) in Anaheim, CA is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager to lead mechanical construction projects safely on time and within budget across Healthcare, Life Science, Commercial, and Industrial markets.

You will coordinate field teams, manage procurement, change orders, client relations, and ensure quality and safety compliance while maintaining project schedules and budget.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years construction work experience and/or a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety of UMEC field personnel on assigned projects.
  • Oversee field labor productivity, quality assurance, and coordination.
  • Manage project financial outcomes, projections and reporting, procurement, change orders, and client relations.
  • Direct and oversee the work activities of direct reports and ensure adherence to company policies.

Job Summary

University Mechanical is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager for our Anaheim, CA location. UMEC offers industry-leading building information modeling (BIM) capabilities, design/build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC services, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations. This position will lead mechanical construction projects safely on time and within budget for various markets including Healthcare, Life Science, Commercial, Industrial and a wide range of other markets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Project Manager has the following duties which include safety of UMEC field personnel assigned to the projects, field labor productivity, quality assurance and coordination, project financial outcome, projections and reporting, material and equipment procurement, change order management, owner/client relations, project cash flow, and personnel management. Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, executed plans, and programs. Other duties may be assigned. Managers are responsible for directing and overseeing the work activities of their direct reports and to be available during the hours that any direct reports are working.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the individual must have 5-7 years construction work-related experience and/or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Computer Skills

Able to effectively operate the following computer software programs: Microsoft (Excel, Works, Project, Access, and Powerpoint), Bluebeam Revu PDF editing, Vista-Viewpoint (Project Management & Accounting Software), and Quotesoft Estimating Software.

Compensation Range

$100K - 150K.
