University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. (CA) is seeking a Mechanical Construction Assistant Project Manager for the San Diego, CA area.
The role focuses on safety of field personnel, productivity, QA, coordination, and financial reporting for projects. Candidates should have 5–7 years of construction experience or a related bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, with strong communication and organizational skills.

The Mechanical Construction Assistant Project Manager for the San Diego CA location has the following duties which include safety of UMEC field personnel assigned to the projects, field labor productivity, quality assurance and coordination, project financial projections and reporting, material and equipment procurement, change order management, owner/client relations, project cash flow, and personnel management. Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, executed plans, and programs. Other duties may be assigned.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must have 5-7 years construction work-related experience and/or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Able to effectively operate the following computer software programs Microsoft (Excel, Word, Project, Access, and Powerpoint), Bluebeam Revu PDF editing, Vista-Viewpoint (Project Management & Accounting Software), and Quotesoft Estimating Software.
Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, vendors, and suppliers.
