Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey seeks a Senior Engineer to supervise and lead construction across multiple Stage IV assignments at the Jersey City site. You will coordinate inspections, review designs, and manage budgets while guiding staff and vendors to ensure safe, timely project completion.

Responsibilities include tracking progress in SAP/Wintrak365, maintaining safety compliance, and serving as a key liaison for materials and environmental testing with cross-divisional

Qualifications

• Six or more years of experience as an engineer.
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Architecture from an accredited college.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Training.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain security clearance and pass a criminal background check for TWIC/SWAC/SIDA.
• Experience with budgets and forecasting.
• Knowledge of materials inspection and testing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned engineers, inspectors, and administrative staff on a project basis.
• Coordinate inspections by Materials Unit and other Engineering Department.
• Report regularly on construction project status to the Resident Engineer, Sr. Engineer of Construction.
• Review and comment on contract drawings and specs during Stage III for material selection.
• Prepare budgets for Redevelopment and other PA facility projects.
• Monitor construction submittals, RFIs, and other contract correspondence to ensure progress of work.
• Track budgets and progress in construction using Wintrak365 and SAP.
• Attend progress meetings and provide status updates.
• Field presence for critical construction activities with materials-related quality concerns.
• Schedule meetings with vendors for materials and equipment to keep CMD staff current.
• Serve as CMD’s point of contact for greenhouse gases and pollutants mitigation.
