The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking a Resident Engineer to manage day-to-day contractor activities at Port Newark, NJ. The role will oversee Stage IV construction contracts, coordinate with facility operations, monitor inspections, and handle contract administration.

You will supervise engineers and inspectors, ensure timely reporting, monitor schedules and budgets, and drive safe, compliant construction.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture from an accredited college.
• 10+ years of Construction Management experience, including 3+ years as Assistant Resident Engineer or equivalent.
• Experience managing engineers and construction professionals.
• Experience monitoring budgets and schedules against forecasts.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to be fingerprinted and pass a criminal background check for TWIC.

• Supervise staff of Engineers, Inspectors, and Administrators to ensure high quality construction and adherence to budgets.
• Ensure field narratives, inspections, and reports are performed timely.
• Monitor contractor adherence to plans, specs, and shop drawings; coordinate with Facility Operations and ensure safety.
• Lead Stage IV Construction activities: schedule, milestones, and closeout; develop mitigation plans.
• Manage contract expenditures, payments, change orders, net cost, and contractor claims.
• Provide regular status updates to Sr. Engineer of Construction and Construction Chiefs.
• Ensure WINTRAK is used and updated per CMD protocols.
• Monitor submittals, SAR approvals, RFIs, and other contract communications.
• Follow CMD procedures and mentor staff to meet objectives.
• Coordinate with other divisions to advance contracts.
