Job summary

Travelers is seeking a skilled Claims professional in Oregon to investigate, evaluate, reserve and resolve Construction Defect and Property Damage claims. You will handle assignments with focus on coverage analysis, liability assessment and efficient dispute resolution.

The role emphasizes independent decision-making, advanced claims knowledge, and collaboration with internal teams and external counsel. Travel up to 30% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; license(s) may be required within three months.
• Strong knowledge of policy language, exclusions, ISO forms, and claims handling practices.
• 3 years of liability claim handling and/or litigation claim experience.
• Ability to independently decide on most assigned cases without supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Directly handles assigned severity claims and communicates with insureds.
• Investigates claims with policyholders, claimants, witnesses and experts to determine liability and damages.
• Interview witnesses and stakeholders; obtain necessary statements.
• Coordinate internal/external resources for evaluation, including subrogation and risk control.
• Manage claim files and diaries; maintain documentation per procedures.
• Develop and implement litigation plans with counsel to ensure effective resolution.
