Qualifications

• Experience handling Construction Defect or related casualty claims.
• Strong technical claims knowledge including investigation, coverage analysis, reserving and settlement strategy.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation skills.
• Collaborative approach with insureds, brokers, underwriters and counsel.
• Ability to work with virtual teams and exercise professional judgment.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of complex Construction Defect claims across jurisdictions, investigate facts and set case resolution strategy.
• Partner with internal and external counsel to pursue effective litigation strategies.
• Consult with Claims management on Large Losses and ensure best outcomes.
• Conduct loss investigations and identify recovery and risk transfer opportunities.
• Maintain written records and reserves per Global Claim Handling Principles.
• Own assigned claims from inception to resolution and ensure timely settlement.
• Identify industry/trends and report to management; coordinate with stakeholders for service excellence.
• Provide regular updates to the Claims Manager and support training of junior staff.
