MWH Constructors, Inc. in Colorado is seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel to join our legal team.

Reporting to the General Counsel, this role will lead construction disputes, claims, and litigation across the United States, partnering with project teams and executives to develop practical strategies and manage risk. Based at our corporate headquarters in Broomfield, this full-time, onsite position offers exposure to major infrastructure projects and a chance to influence business

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar and ability to obtain authorization to practice in Colorado.
• Minimum six years of relevant legal experience, including hands-on construction claims, disputes, and litigation.
• Experience representing clients in construction, engineering, heavy civil, infrastructure, or related industries, in private practice or in-house.
• Ability to develop litigation and claims strategy, evaluate risk, manage discovery, and draft substantive legal documents.
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, analytical, and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction claims, disputes, and litigation arising from water, wastewater, and heavy civil infrastructure projects.
• Develop case strategy, evaluate risk, and drive matters toward practical, business-focused resolutions.
• Manage day-to-day litigation activities, including discovery, document collection/review, witness preparation, and legal research with internal stakeholders.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, mediation statements, settlement agreements, and other litigation-related documents.
• Select, engage, and oversee outside counsel, including strategy, budgets, and legal spend.
• Advise General Counsel, executive leadership, and project teams on litigation exposure and complex legal matters.
