Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Seattle seeks a licensed attorney with construction-law experience to provide day-to-day counsel on contracts and related matters for the company’s business units. You will review owner contracts and support bidding/negotiation processes while analyzing complex documents for risk and compliance.

Must have a JD, 5+ years in construction law, strong negotiation and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office and legal case management systems.

Qualifications

  • JD degree with a valid law license.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in construction law.
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret contracts and insurance documents.
  • Proven written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and legal case management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and risk assessments across contracts/construction law.
  • Advise business partners on legal, contractual and risk matters impacting their areas of responsibility.
  • Review owner contracts and support Bid/Negotiation processes.
  • Analyze change orders and waivers/releases for legal risk.
  • Deliver legal training to the Business Units on topics including ethics/compliance.
  • Partner with lead counsel in the management of contested matters.
