Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an experienced attorney to provide day-to-day counsel on contracts and construction law for multiple business units and regions.

You will advise on legal and risk matters, analyze complex documents, review owner contracts, and support bidding/negotiation processes across projects. The role requires a law degree, at least five years in construction law, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• JD degree with a valid law license.
• Minimum 5 years' of experience with an emphasis on construction law, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Self-starter with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deliver high quality work on tight deadlines.
• Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and applicable legislation affecting operations.
• Adaptable and flexible to operate with minimal direction and little supervision in a complex environment.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities with emphasis on problem solving and negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day counsel, guidance and support related to contracts/construction law for assigned Business Units and/or regions.
• Advise business partners on legal, contractual and risk matters impacting their areas of responsibility.
• Analyze and summarize legal documents and complex business transactions and contracts.
• Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems involving the assigned Business Units.
• Review owner contracts and support Business Unit leaders in the bidding/negotiation process.
• Review routine project-related agreements and analyze change orders for legal risks.
• Partner with lead counsel in the management and resolution of contested matters.
• Manage litigation and corporate disclosures for RFQ/RFP responses.
• Deliver legal training to the Business Units on various topics including ethics/compliance.
