The role requires advising on legal matters, risk assessment, and contract interpretation for complex projects, including bidding and negotiation support.

The candidate will analyze documents, manage due diligence, and collaborate with senior counsel to resolve matters.

Qualifications

• JD degree with a valid law license.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience focused on construction law.
• Self-starter who can prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of industry best practices and applicable legislation.
• Able to work with minimal supervision in a complex environment.
• Strong written/verbal communication with negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and legal case management systems.
• Ability to read and interpret contracts and insurance documents.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and risk assessments across contracts/construction law.
• Advise business partners on legal, contractual and risk matters.
• Analyze and summarize legal documents and complex transactions.
• Mitigate potential legal problems for assigned units.
• Maintain organized due diligence documents and research.
• Review owner contracts and support bidding/negotiation processes.
• Review routine project-related agreements and change orders for risk.
• Partner with lead counsel on contested matters and litigation management.
• Coordinate with Corporate Secretary on bids and resolutions.
• Deliver contract term best-practices training to Business Units.
