Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR seeks an experienced Construction Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for a growing construction firm. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in WIP, POC, job costing, ASC 606, and project financial management within general contractor or subcontractor environments.

This role partners with operations and project management to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and timely financial information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA certification is highly preferred and beneficial.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 5+ years in Controller or Assistant Controller roles within a construction company.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial operations for the company.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee WIP schedules and project profitability reporting.
• Manage POC accounting and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Monitor job costs, committed costs, cost-to-complete projections, and margins.
• Partner with Project Managers to review budgets, forecasts, and performance.
• Review project cost reports and identify cost overruns or margin risks.
• Oversee project accounting functions including job cost, SOV, change orders, and retainage.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, and banking relationships.
• Produce financial dashboards and KPI reporting for leadership.
• Lead and develop the accounting team and drive process improvements.
