Job summary

Ascendo Resources seeks an experienced Construction Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for a growing construction company in the United States. This role focuses on WIP reporting, POC accounting, and ASC 606 revenue recognition, partnering with operations to ensure accurate project reporting.

The candidate will oversee monthly close, GAAP-compliant financial statements, cash flow management, and internal controls while mentoring the accounting team and coordinating audits

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA is preferred for the role.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Minimum 5 years of Controller or Assistant Controller experience in a construction company.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial operations for the company.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review monthly GAAP-based financial statements.
• Oversee WIP schedules and project profitability reporting.
• Manage POC accounting and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Monitor job costs, budgets, forecasts, and margins.
• Partner with Project Managers on financial performance.
• Oversee payroll, AP/AR, and general ledger.
• Develop internal controls and accounting policies.
• Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and lender reporting.
