Job summary

Fluor Constructors seeks a seasoned Contracts Manager to lead negotiation, evaluation and finalization of complex contracts for heavy industrial projects in Puerto Rico and the mainland.

You will manage RFPs, coordinate with project teams, monitor performance, and drive closeout while ensuring compliance with local and federal requirements. Strong communication and risk assessment skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in applicable field and five years of related experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
• Learn and apply knowledge of local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
• Experience in contract management, subcontract administration, and/or procurement for engineering/construction projects.
• Experience negotiating commercial terms and final contract price with bidders.
• Strong understanding of contracting principles and legal terms and conditions.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate contract terms and conditions and coordinate technical scopes across disciplines.
• Lead internal RFP and contract pre-award meetings, final negotiations, and drafting of documents.
• Analyze proposals and coordinate evaluations; present recommendations to project team or client.
• Perform post-award contract management including productivity, schedule, changes, invoicing and claims avoidance.
• Close out contracts, resolve issues, issue final modifications and complete contractor evaluations.
• Develop and issue monthly reports and participate in taskforce activities.
• Develop project contract procedures and standard templates; coordinate document distribution to contractors.
• Organize communications and meetings with contractors and understand the Prime Contract.
