Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Business Development Manager to own a defined market of general contractors, owners, developers and design firms, guiding the pipeline from initial contact through proposals to signed testing and inspection work.

You will work with a seller-doer engineer pricing and sealing the technical side, while you manage relationships, approve pursuits, and coordinate proposals with the engineering team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years selling professional or technical services to the construction industry
• Existing network of contractors, owners, or design firms in the market
• Disciplined pipeline habits: documented, forecastable, and honest
• Comfortable talking specifications and schedules with a superintendent and contract terms with an owner

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a target list of contractors, owners, developers, and design firms
• Own relationships end to end and track permits, bid boards and project announcements
• Qualify and pursue opportunities from first contact through proposal and signed agreement
• Coordinate proposals with the engineering team: scope, pricing, qualifications, and follow-up
• Represent the company at industry associations, pre-bid meetings, and client events
• Report pipeline and results monthly
