Job summary

Jobot seeks a hands-on Construction Accountant in Bethesda, MD to own the full accounting cycle for our custom homes and general contracting division. The role demands meticulous bookkeeping, timely financial reporting, and close collaboration with leadership.

You will manage AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and month- and year-end closes, while supporting tax compliance and process improvements in a small, collaborative team. Hybrid work typically 1–2 days in-office weekly.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of full-cycle accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience.
• Experience in construction, real estate development, or related industry.
• Strong ability to manage accounting responsibilities independently.
• Prior experience with payroll processing and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for the custom homes/construction division.
• Process accounts payable, vendor payments, and accounts receivable.
• Maintain the general ledger and supporting schedules.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities.
• Complete bank and account reconciliations.
• Process payroll and payroll taxes for ~10 employees and contractors.
• Support tax reporting and compliance activities.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
• Collaborate with ownership on financial reporting.
