Job summary

Coakley & Williams Construction seeks a Corporate General Ledger Accountant to join the Accounting & Finance team in Bethesda, MD. You will maintain the general ledger, post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and support monthly closes across multiple business units.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, GAAP knowledge, and Excel proficiency to operate in a fast-paced construction environment. Collaboration with project accounting and operations is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
• 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with construction ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries, including accruals and allocations.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure timely recording of transactions.
• Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts monthly.
• Research and resolve account discrepancies and reconciling items.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and cash account analysis.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external audits.
