Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Hybrid Full-Charge Bookkeeper / Accountant for our construction division in Bethesda. You will manage full-cycle accounting, AP/AR, payroll, and monthly/annual reporting, with Sage 300 experience required.

The role supports a stable developer with multi-state projects. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of accounting experience, strong reconciliations, and a track record of process improvements in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of full-cycle accounting or full-charge bookkeeping
• Experience with Sage 300 or Sage ERP
• Construction, custom homes, real estate development experience
• AP, AR, payroll, payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Independent management of the accounting function for a unit or small company
• Process improvements in a mature, process-driven environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Manage all full-cycle accounting functions for the custom homes/construction division
• Process accounts payable and vendor payments
• Manage accounts receivable and collections
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities
• Process payroll and payroll tax filings for approximately 10 employees and contractors
• Maintain the general ledger and supporting schedules
• Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
• Process ACH payments and cash management activities
• Assist with tax-related reporting and compliance requirements
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
• Help organize accounting files and improve processes
• Work with ownership and accounting leadership on financial reporting needs
• Support accounting operations for custom home construction and general contracting projects
