Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking an electrical/connectivity hardware engineer in Mossville, IL to define hardware requirements, collaborate with suppliers, and drive development of connectivity hardware products. You will plan performance and reliability testing and work with Cat Technology teams on new technologies and solutions.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, supplier management, and adherence to regulatory processes, with up to 10% travel and full-time on-site work in Mossville.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with electronic component products, component integration and product quality management.
• Experience with Component Product Development for automotive, construction or mining Industry.
• Experience with Supplier management.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, audits and controls, defect containment and risk assessment and mitigation through leading indicators.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing compliance with development processes and regulations for electrical and electronic systems and components.
• Investigating and troubleshooting all technical issues related to electrical and electronic systems and components.
• Managing electrical and electronic equipment vendors for the development of systems and components.
• Mentoring craftsmen, technicians and engineers in the development of electrical and electronic systems and components.
• Accountability for the definition and management of hardware requirements.
