Job summary

Caterpillar seeks a hardware test and validation engineer for electronic components and connectivity hardware used in Caterpillar Connectivity Solutions. You will plan, coordinate and execute hardware tests in Caterpillar laboratories and collaborate with lab teams, suppliers and engineers to ensure performance and regulatory compliance.

You will work at Caterpillar's Mossville, IL facility full-time, with travel up to 10% and relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with electronic component products, component integration and product quality management.
• Experience with Component Product Development for automotive, construction or mining Industry.
• Experience with Supplier management.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, audits and controls, defect containment and risk assessment and mitigation through leading indicators.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing compliance with development processes and regulations for electrical and electronic systems and components.
• Investigating and troubleshooting all technical issues related to electrical and electronic systems and components.
• Managing electrical and electronic equipment vendors for the development of systems and components.
• Mentoring craftsmen, technicians and engineers in the development of electrical and electronic systems and components.
• Accountability for the definition and management of hardware requirements.
