Job summary

The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston is seeking a Senior Conference Services Manager to lead luxury meetings, ensuring flawless execution and alignment with the hotel’s brand standards.

You will coordinate client needs with hotel operations, develop menus and agendas, issue BEOs, and mentor junior staff while driving client satisfaction and operational efficiency in a Forbes Five-Star setting.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of hotel-related experience or related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong events experience.
  • Previous hotel luxury or Forbes experience preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Review hotel assets to grow business and coordinate with operations.
  • Create cost estimates and manage budget changes with clear communication.
  • Review client attrition at all phases of planning and optimize upgrades.
  • Review budgets/goals and develop action plans with leadership.
  • Develop menus/agendas, issue BEOs, and coordinate with outside vendors.
  • Provide guidance to junior staff and lead best-practice improvements.
  • Assist team managers on after-hours or weekend programs.
  • Partner with senior leadership to improve client satisfaction and efficiency.

Job description

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Senior Conference Services Manager to join the only double Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences.

The Senior Conference Services Manager

is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing exceptional meetings in a luxury hotel setting. This role serves as the primary liaison between the client and hotel operations, ensuring each program is flawlessly executed, financially sound, and reflective of the hotel’s brand standards and service philosophy.

Responsibilities
  • Review and understand the hotel and Landry’s assets and how they work together to grow business.
  • Create a basic cost estimate that is updated with all changes for the program. Clear and consistent communication on where the program is with their budget for each change.
  • Attrition is reviewed with the client during all phases of the planning process. Prior to the cut-off date, after the cut-off date, and through the program dates. Review ways to help the client upgrade and use their attrition.
  • Review and understand budget and goals for each quarter.
  • Work with the Director and the Associate Director of Event Planning to develop an action plan to achieve the quarterly goals.
  • Develop menus and agendas, ensure BEO’s are issued, and complete all pertinent correspondence with outside vendors to finalize programs.
  • Provide guidance to junior event staff, assist with training, and lead best-practice improvements.
  • Assist team managers on programs that occur during the work week and programs that are after hours and/or on weekends.
  • Partner with senior department leadership to implement process improvements designed to increase client satisfaction and operational efficiencies.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required
  • Physical demands: Ability to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis and prolonged extended
