Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Baltimore, MD is seeking an experienced estimator to prepare Self-Perform Operations (SPO) concrete estimates from drawings and specs, and to communicate bids and scopes of work to project teams. The role requires 3+ years in concrete estimating, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Construction, and proficiency with takeoff/estimating software as well as MS Office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience performing detailed estimates for concrete scopes.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Construction fields or equivalent.
• Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and Trade practices.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Proficient in MS Office and estimating software.
• Travel willingness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare SPO concrete estimates with quantity take-offs and bid inputs.
• Develop labor productivity rates using historical data.
• Maintain vendor relationships for competitive pricing.
• Prepare bids for Lump Sum, GMP, and Cost Plus.
• Identify design risks and propose solutions with Preconstruction.
• Analyze project schedules for sequencing and labor loading.
• Coordinate with SPO Manager on markups and rates.
• Lead document management and distribute drawings to stakeholders.
• Attend constructability reviews and document issues.
• Develop value analysis studies for cost-efficient alternatives.
• Prepare trade scope requisitions and coordinate to close gaps.
• Post Bid actions and procurement recommendations.
• May supervise estimating team and participate in recruitment.
• Other duties as assigned.
