Job summary

DPR Construction in Reston, VA is seeking a Construction Engineer specializing in Self-Perform Work (SPW) to drive integration of SPW scopes with overall project plans, schedules, and quality requirements.

You will monitor SPW progress, analyze labor and equipment, and work with craft supervision to improve safety, efficiency, and outcomes. A Bachelor's in CM/Engineering/Architecture and 4–6 years of SPW-related experience are required; OSHA 30 preferred with completion within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in construction engineering or a related field.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred; OSHA 30 program completion within 6 months of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Review moderately complex technical aspects of SPW work scopes for design adherence and quality benchmarks.
• Coordinate with SPW project managers and crews to resolve technical challenges and maintain productivity.
• Review SPW drawings, submittals, and change orders for accuracy and alignment with SPW goals.
• Implement SPW controls, including schedule tracking and cost monitoring.
• Prepare and present SPW progress reports and daily field logs for stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate SPW safety, equipment, and materials risks through field analysis and engineering solutions.
• Mentor less experienced SPW team members on moderately complex issues.
