Job summary

DPR Construction in Reston, VA is seeking a Construction Engineer to support Self-Perform Work (SPW) on complex projects. You will apply knowledge of project activities, methods, and leading practices in SPW operations, working with SPW crews, project managers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to meet scope, schedule, and quality targets.

Responsibilities include monitoring schedules, maintaining documentation, and driving continuous improvement in SPW processes.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of construction engineering or related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in CM/engineering/architecture or equivalent.
• OSHA 30 construction certification preferred; completion within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Review contract drawings, specifications, and submittals for SPW scopes.
• Collaborate with SPW managers, superintendents and teams to resolve technical questions.
• Monitor activity schedules and budgets, track labor productivity, and report variances.
• Support the implementation of SPW QA and safety protocols across all phases of self-perform work.
• Prepare SPW project documentation: daily crew reports, time and material logs, equipment usage, field changes.
• Identify opportunities for incremental SPW process improvements and contribute to leading practices.
• Participate in SPW coordination meetings and communicate progress and issues to crews and stakeholders.
