Job summary

Jobot is seeking a seasoned Business Unit Manager for concrete construction in the DMV area. Lead a dedicated team, drive project planning, execution, and profitability across diverse commercial projects.

You will oversee shoring, forming, pouring, columns, and deck work while managing procurement, budgets, and safety. Strong leadership and stakeholder communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years in construction, with 8+ years in operational management.
• Concrete experience in shoring, forming, pouring, columns, deck work.
• Experience managing $30–50M concrete scope over 1–3 projects.
• Experience building PM and Superintendent teams.
• Multi-level cast in place concrete and large industrial work.
• PM, risk, budget, and procurement experience.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development.
• Excellent communication and negotiation with diverse stakeholders.
• Familiar with construction software and PM tools.
• PM and Risk Management certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the business unit, aligning with strategic objectives.
• Manage and supervise a team of construction professionals.
• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of projects from shoring to deck work.
• Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and services within budgets.
• Implement risk management strategies to mitigate project risks.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Monitor and report unit performance, providing insights to senior management.
