Job summary

Matrix Service Company is seeking an Engineer III focused on Computational Analysis to perform advanced structural design and analysis for steel and concrete structures. The role heavily uses finite element analysis tools to evaluate plate structures under various loading conditions, and may lead projects with internal and external resources.

The position emphasizes collaboration within a team on large, complex projects, with responsibilities ranging from model development to design verification

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required; MS degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• 5+ years related engineering experience. Advanced knowledge of strength of materials, stress analysis and structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develops computer models from design drawings.
• Applies engineering principles to static, dynamic and thermal loading of steel and concrete structures.
• Supports design efforts for atmospheric, refrigerated and cryogenic storage structures to API and ASME codes/standards.
• Performs design calculations and analysis using appropriate systems and tools.
• Checks work for constructability, interferences, and safety; ensures quality.
