Matrix PDM Engineering in the United States is seeking an Engineer III focused on Computational Analysis. You will perform advanced structural design and analysis for steel and concrete structures, using finite element tools for complex loading.

This role may lead a discipline on projects and coordinate internal and external resources. Responsibilities include developing models from drawings, applying first principles, preparing reports, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule alignment on

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required; MS degree preferred; PE preferred.
• 5+ years related engineering experience.
• Advanced knowledge of strength of materials, stress analysis and structural engineering.
• Design experience in API-620, API-650, API-653, and ASME Section VIII is strongly preferred.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) of steel shell structures required; thermal/dynamic loading and concrete structures preferred.
• Experience with ANSYS APDL/Workbench or similar FEA software applications.
• MathCAD, AutoCAD, STAAD, and COMPASS knowledge preferred.
• Experience with hand calculations for verification.

Responsibilities

• Develops computer models from design drawings.
• Applies engineering principles to solve structural problems for steel and concrete structures.
• Acts as discipline lead for projects and manages resources.
• Prepares and manages project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Edits specifications and communicates results to clients.
• Checks work for constructability, safety, and quality.
