Job summary

Matrix PDM Engineering seeks a structural engineer focused on computational analysis to advance advanced designs for steel and concrete structures. You will perform finite element analysis, develop models from drawings, and collaborate with teams on large projects across disciplines.

The role requires 5+ years in structural engineering, strong knowledge of materials, dynamics and codes, and proficiency in FEA tools like ANSYS. Occasional travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required; MS degree preferred.
• 5+ years related engineering experience.
• Advanced knowledge of strength of materials, stress analysis and structural engineering is required.
• Design experience in API-620, API-650, API-653, and ASME Section VIII is strongly preferred.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) of steel shell structure is required.

Responsibilities

• Develops computer models from design drawings.
• Applies engineering first principles to find solutions for steel and concrete structures.
• Performs design calculations and analysis using appropriate systems and tools.
• Assists in preparing and managing scope, budget and schedule for projects.
• Checks work for constructability, safety and quality.
