Job summary

Covenant House in New York, NY seeks a Vice President of Compliance to oversee all program compliance, audits, and regulatory activities for CHNY and its FQHC. You will develop systems to meet funding, licensing, and accreditation standards, and lead corrective actions arising from internal and external audits.

You will supervise compliance staff, coach teams, and ensure effective policy implementation across all programs.

Qualifications

• Master’s or graduate degree required; Law degree a plus.
• 7–10 years of experience in compliance or related field.
• Experience with youth-serving and mission-driven organizations preferred.
• Strong systems thinker who can synthesize large, complex information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficient with MS Office; willingness to learn new tech tools.
• Ability to relate to youths and comply with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a thought leader on program compliance, quality improvement, and policies.
• Develop and manage compliance systems meeting City, State, and Federal requirements.
• Lead audits with government funders and coordinate corrective actions.
• Oversee annual compliance work plan and audit communications.
• Ensure clear reporting of internal audit findings and corrective actions.
• Manage corrective action plans from external audits.
• Create and maintain CHNY policy library and required documentation.
• Provide coaching and technical assistance on contract and regulatory issues.
• Oversee HIPAA Privacy Officer and Child Protection policies and processes.
• Chair Health Center Compliance Committee and manage internal monitoring and annual risk assessment.
• Ensure compliance with managed care contracts and subpoena responses.
