Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or a related field; Master’s in Accounting, MBA, or MPA preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience; public accounting or professional services experience strongly preferred
• Experience serving governmental, tribal, and/or not-for-profit organizations preferred
• Experience with grant management and compliance activities, internal control reviews or assessments, and/or internal audit
• Experience with Single Audits and federally funded programs preferred
• CPA, CIA, CGMA, CFE, or other relevant professional designation preferred
• Familiarity with GAO/GAGAS standards, Uniform Guidance, and IIA standards preferred
• Understanding of the financial, compliance, and operational environments of governmental and not-for-profit organizations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with client-facing deliverables
• Ability to travel approximately 20%

Responsibilities

• Support project planning and execute grant compliance monitoring activities, including development of monitoring programs and review of subrecipient performance
• Perform and lead grant compliance reviews, evaluate documentation, and develop actionable findings and recommendations
• Perform and lead internal control reviews, internal audits, and operational assessments
• Develop and enhance policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls
• Conduct interviews, review documentation, perform analyses, and prepare client deliverables
• Collaborate with clients to understand current accounting and business practices and develop practical solutions
• Communicate project status, issues, and results to engagement team and client stakeholders
• Provide guidance to and review the work of junior team members to support timely delivery
