Job summary

Baker Tilly seeks a Senior to join our Compliance Advisory team to provide advisory and consulting services to governmental, tribal, private, and not-for-profit organizations with a focus on grant management and compliance, internal controls, and policy development.

You will work with clients and team members to assess needs, identify improvements, and develop practical solutions that strengthen processes, controls, and organizational effectiveness. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience; public accounting or professional services experience strongly preferred.
• Experience serving governmental, tribal, and/or not-for-profit organizations preferred.
• Experience with grant management and compliance activities, internal control reviews or assessments, and/or internal audit.
• Experience with Single Audits and federally funded programs preferred.
• CPA, CIA, CGMA, CFE, or other relevant professional designation preferred.
• Familiarity with GAGAS/Yellow Book, Uniform Guidance, and IIA standards preferred.
• Ability to travel as needed, approximately 20%.

Responsibilities

• Support grant compliance monitoring activities and review subrecipient performance.
• Lead grant compliance reviews and develop clear, actionable findings and recommendations.
• Lead internal control reviews, internal audits, and operational assessments.
• Develop and enhance policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls.
• Prepare client deliverables, findings, and reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with clients to improve accounting and business practices, and strengthen compliance and operations.
• Communicate project status and results to team members and clients.
• Guide junior team members to ensure high-quality and timely project delivery.
