Job summary

Baker Tilly in the United States is seeking a Senior to join our Compliance Advisory team. In this cross-functional role, you will provide advisory and consulting services to governmental, tribal, private, and not-for-profit organizations, with a focus on grant management and compliance, internal controls, and the development and enhancement of policies and procedures.

You will work collaboratively with clients and team members to assess compliance and operational needs, identify opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience; public accounting or professional services preferred.
• Experience serving governmental, tribal, and/or not-for-profit organizations preferred.
• Experience with grant management and compliance activities, internal control reviews or assessments, and/or internal audit.
• Experience with Single Audits and federally funded programs preferred.
• CPA, CIA, CGMA, CFE, or other relevant designation preferred.
• Familiarity with GAGAS, Uniform Guidance, and IIA standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support project planning and execute grant compliance monitoring activities, including monitoring programs and subrecipient performance.
• Perform and lead grant compliance reviews, evaluate documentation, and develop findings and recommendations.
• Perform and lead internal control reviews, internal audits, and operational assessments.
• Develop and enhance policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls.
• Conduct interviews, review documentation, perform analyses, and prepare client deliverables.
• Collaborate with clients to understand accounting practices and develop practical solutions.
• Communicate project status, issues, and results to team and client stakeholders.
• Provide guidance to junior team members to support timely project delivery.
