Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years’ experience in community-based services and programming.
• Preferred: Experience in community outreach.
• Preferred: Experience in managing grant reports and budgets.
• Preferred: Interest in the issues and needs of older adults and their families.
• Preferred: Demonstrated skill in personnel and program management.
• Preferred: Ability to collaborate with other agencies and organizations.
• Preferred: Strong problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: Self-motivated and self-directed.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Word, developing and maintaining spreadsheets, and in creating flyers and newsletters.

Responsibilities

• Supervise volunteers in assigned counties who provide companionship to homebound and socially isolated older adults.
• Recruit, train, and place volunteers for the Senior Companion Program.
• Coordinate with nonprofit partner agencies to support program activities.
• Assist with program compliance with AmeriCorps Seniors grant requirements.
