Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Senior Companion Program (SCP) Coordinator in Michigan to recruit, orient and train volunteers for the Senior Companion program. You will build relationships with volunteers and staff, ensuring continuity of services for the served population.

The role oversees selection, volunteer training, station assignments, and records. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with gerontology knowledge and administrative experience. State moral character standards apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferable.
• Gerontology knowledge/expertise coupled with administrative experience required.
• Must meet the State’s Moral Character standard.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment, selection and volunteer training.
• Assign senior companions to clients and monitor assignments.
• Prepare annual performance evaluations for each senior companion.
• Maintain relationships with volunteers and partner agencies.
• Meet regularly with host setting liaisons to discuss operations and assignments.
• Provide direction and support to senior companions.
