Job summary

Columbia Bank in Spokane, WA is seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriter to assess new and renewal C&I and CRE credit requests, including working capital lines, asset-based lines, real estate loans and equipment financing.

You will collaborate with CPMs, CSMs, and Relationship Managers to present findings with business rationale and risk mitigations to obtain credit approval, and monitor borrower performance against covenants.

Qualifications

7–10 years of commercial underwriting/credit analysis experience.
Advanced credit quality knowledge including accounting, financial statement spreading, and cash flow analysis.
Ability to train and present to audiences.
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Underwrites new and renewal Commercial and Industrial (C&I) and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) credit requests.
Analyzes business, industry and financial data to identify key risks and justify credit recommendations.
Prepares concise credit recommendations with risk mitigations and accurate risk ratings.
Monitors borrower performance and ensures covenant calculations are accurate and up-to-date.
