Job summary

MRISpokane is seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join its banking credit team in a collaborative, client-focused environment. The role partners with Commercial Relationship Managers to evaluate CRE and C&I opportunities, analyze borrower financial statements and cash flow, and deliver sound credit recommendations that support long-term client relationships while maintaining portfolio quality.

3+ years of underwriting experience and a BA/BS preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial underwriting, credit analysis, or portfolio management experience.
• Strong understanding of commercial financial statement analysis and cash flow analysis.
• Ability to analyze complex credit relationships and communicate recommendations clearly.

Responsibilities

• Analyze commercial loan requests including CRE and C&I transactions.
• Prepare credit presentations, financial analyses, and risk assessments.
• Evaluate borrower and guarantor financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, and collateral.
• Assess transaction structure, repayment sources, covenant compliance, and overall credit risk.
• Partner with Relationship Managers throughout underwriting and provide credit recommendations.
• Assist with renewals, modifications, annual reviews, and portfolio monitoring.
• Ensure credit packages comply with policy and regulatory expectations.
• Communicate effectively with lenders and credit leadership through the approval process.
